// Hadzas, bushmen de Tanzanie - The Hazda Bushmen of
The endangered ethnic group of the Bushmen of Tanzania (former Tanganika) only counts about 1000 individuals. The Hadza speak a language of oral tradition, which belongs to the Khoisan family and is characterised by tongue clapping and onomatopoeia. All the men play -with various talent- the malimba or the zeze (a single-string musical bow with a gourd). These musical interludes frequently take place in the afternoon, while people rest under the shade of the trees. The Hadza ngomas that are performed at night are animistic sessions aiming to a collective trance that liaises with the world of ancestors.
